Oh, Halifax…(tour update #4)
Wow. Halifax is a truly lovely city, but this time around, it didn’t treat the Preachers quite the way it should have. We spent a couple days enjoying the city and resting up for our gig last night at Tribeca. Gig was fun, cool looking place, but at some point while we were playing, someone broke into Jordan’s car and stole Anthony’s laptop…so that kind of put a downer on the whole night. Since we didn’t have any way to fix the window at that point, we made a quick late night decision to do an overnight drive to Charlottetown and spend the day here preparing for our gig at Baba’s Lounge (which is where I’m typing this from now)! One small hiccup (aside from the theft, of course), Jordan’s car battery broke in the McDonald’s parking lot. Boo. Matt hooked up the jumper cables, shocked himself (oh yeah, and Jordan’s battery), and we were on our way!
The ride was actually quite pleasant, which I feel we all deserved after the night we had all had. Beautiful countryside in these parts, accompanied by 6 am Garrison beers, Tragic Kingdom and the new Sam Roberts album.
As Jordan, our wisest band member, said, “Maybe all of today was meant to save us all tomorrow.”
Here is a video of us on our way to P.E.I. and an update from Charlottetown…you all must be privy to such beauty.
Love you all!
